Charles and Evan
Charles: How do I feel about television’s affect on its viewers?
Evan: It can be both positive and negative. It really depends on what you watch.
Charles: Do you think that certain shows can change how people think and act?
Evan: Of course. Just look at the show “Cops”. They always have some black man running from the cops in a “wife beater”. All other racial groups look at black men like they are criminals and you can see the affect when black men enter the store. They are always being followed by the owners of the store.
Charles: Do you think the ratings of television shows are affective?
Evan: Yes and no. It depends on whether or not the children are with their parents.
Charles: How long is too long to watch T.V.?
Evan: I think 2 hours is enough. Anything over 2 hours of watching television can become dangerous because it means you are not active enough in your life.
Charles: About how long do you watch T.V.?
Evan: I watch for 1 hour. I keep myself active all the time so I don’t have time to watch T.V.
Charles: Do some shows change your perspective on things?
Evan: Yes, they may inform me of something I don’t know and at the same time, I get the chance to learn something.
